Imagine not making friends with a guy because his name tasted bad. Although this sounds like something out of a science fiction novel, it actually happened to one person. James Wannerton, from Blackpool, has a condition called synaesthesia. Synaesthia is a condition where two senses are stimulated at the same time. So for James, whenever he saw or read a word it would stimulate his taste buds. He actually hated being around certain people because of the way thier names tasted. James didn’t realize that he was special until he became a teenager and started opening up to other people.
‘Food names don’t necessarily bring the taste of the food. For example, the word oyster triggers the taste of chocolate.
‘I have actually stopped eating out with other people because their conversation creates so many different tastes in my mouth that it ruins my enjoyment of the food.
I got this article from Daily Mail. Check out the link to read about more people who have weird disorders.
