The Dark Knight sure was entertaining but was it anything we haven’t seen before? Well let me give you a very very concise synopsis first. It’s basically follows a deranged costumed villain who’s trying to turn the masses against an obviously benevolent superhero whose real identity is unknown, dramatic irony galore. But what movie am I describing here? Could be any recent superhero movie to be honest. A lot happened in the movie that was far from your usual action flick that I left out on purpose but its not much really. Another sentence or two and we’d have a shockingly correct summary of a two and a half hour long movie. But of course, a wonderful viral marketing campaign coupled with the lack of any other similarly gripping action films of late combined for rave reviews from the usual movie going crowd and critics alike. Don’t get me wrong though, I loved the movie the whole way through, I could not stop smiling. Its just that I can’t see myself remembering the Dark Knight after some time passes; its already just a blur of action scenes that aren’t quite sticking. Its overrated. Good, yes, great, no. So it goes.
You’re high. This is the greatest superhero movie ever. It’s film of the decade easy. I’m gonna go ahead and say that this is better than the godfather. Almost as good as citizen kane (kane has the brilliant direction and the still freaking ridiculous fact that orson welles wrote, produced, directed, AND starred). To call The Dark Knight anything less than amazing is to suggest that it wasn’t. If you can’t remember anything from the Dark Knight aside from the action scenes, then you clearly aren’t the kind of person that remembers movies for more than their action scenes.
